Imagine this picture: Steve King, standing next to Joni Ernst, standing next to Donald Trump. That was the scene Saturday at Joni Ernst’s annual Roast and Ride fundraiser in Des Moines. Unsettling, right? Heck, it was down-right disturbing!
As Donald Trump continues his assault on civility and decency (and the English language), Joni Ernst stands with him. Terry Branstad stands with him. And Steve King stands with him. Well...maybe Steve King stands with him.
Well, maybe Steve King stands with him.
Okay, so you don't have to imagine it. Here it is.
Have you heard? While many Republicans across the country are distancing themselves from Donald Trump’s campaign of hateful rhetoric, blatant bigotry, and ugly misogyny -- and others are cautiously withholding their support, waiting to for a “pivot” to behavior more befitting a presidential candidate -- Steve King’s threat is precisely the opposite. “Soften on immigration, back off on your promise to round up 11 million people and throw them out of the country, and you’ll lose my support.” (That’s a paraphrase, but it’s pretty accurate.) He’s the only prominent Republican I know of who’s threatening to abandon Trump unless he’s more of a reprehensible cretin.
It’s like a bad dream, isn’t it?
Please help us rid Iowa of our most useless and embarrassing representative. It will take strong supporters like you from throughout the state to retake the 4th District. Together we will unseat Steve King and give Iowa families the representation we deserve.
