Iowa Democrats gathered Sunday in Ames to rally support for candidates less than a month before Election Day, but also jabbed at Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump as the fallout continues from a leaked video over the weekend.
The "Central Iowa Fall Barbecue in the Barn" brought Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack back to the state. Vilsack, the featured speaker, was introduced by State Sen. Herman Quirmbach, D-Ames, at the Jeff and Deb Hansen Agriculture Student Learning Center.
Quirmbach was the first to jab at Trump as the state senator bashed the GOP presidential nominee on "going bankrupt six times" and the possibility of Trump not paying his federal income taxes for the past 18 years, saying, "that level of success, this country can't afford."
